I mean getting 12 meat and then cooking 12 grilled meat. Hopefully you remember to lower the harvest on the pigs. Meat: On the surface it seems like 5 is a lot but considering a green pig can give you over 100 and normal ones can give you 10 or more it is also very fair. Make sure you mod out the regrowable plant too to keep it fair. By making it one for one you're actually giving yourself a 4x advantage. ![]() ![]() In a few weeks you will have a HUGE garden, and that is NOT taking into account the corn that's found in the world which is in NO short supply so all this seed complaining is silly to me. For every 5 corn you punch, you make a seed. Seeds: Considering once you plant one, you never ever need to plant another one again Id say it is more than fair. In the real world 1 meat should make 1 meat and while 1 corn should make more than 1 seed in the real world.I think 4 corn making 1 seeds is beyond silly.ĮDIT: I do realize it's a game.and not the real world. I wound up with some much corn and potatoes after I got the skill unlocked that I could semi-understand why they set it to 4:1 and also why they gated the seed making ability. I also found gating the ability to make seeds kind of silly, but I kept it in for testing. Seeds, while it seems odd that it would take 4 corn to make 1 corn seed, lowering this to 1 corn for 1 seed is also overkill if you run into a town that has a farm in it and you get a ton of corn/potatoes/blueberries etc. I think maybe either making it a 2:1 ratio or just lowering the amount of meat you get from animals may be more balanced. Now that I have tried it I realize that a 1:1 meat ratio just produces too much. ![]() The reason I modded it out to begin with was because to me if you are getting a piece single piece of meat from an animal that should be more than sufficient enough to make a piece of charred meat you can eat or bacon for bacon and eggs. I modded out the meat 5:1 and changed it to a 1:1 ratio and find that it is overkill because of the amount of meat you get per kill. Until they optimize larger maps, if it's even possible with all the new changes, 8k maps are probably the way to go.So I was just looking for threads that had discussions about the meat 5:1 ratio and the seeds 4:1 ratio and thought I'd comment on them. You're likely to start digging into virtual memory at some point during gameplay, which would probably cripple performance. Just running on a 16k map, uses almost 12gb's of ram first loading in, which doesn't leave a whole hell of a lot of RAM left over if you only have 16gb's of total system ram. It's my opinion, if you only have 16gb's of ram, forgot about running a 16k map, even if you just download a pregenerated map seperately. One odd quirk, I had to completely exit out of the game after generating the map, since it never cleared RAM usage and kept adding onto the initial 22.4gb's of use during load up. Max CPU usage during generation: 35%, but averaged 17% Max RAM usage after first load up: 11.7gb's (didn't run around, just sat in the starting spot) Max RAM usage during generation: 22.4gb's User additionally added observations which I will post here:ĭecided to test out A17E B208 to see if much has changed but to also monitor RAM/CPU/GPU usage during generation.ģ2gb DDR4 3200mhz CL16 (OC'd to 3600mhz to see if it helped, which it didn't much) I wonder what it's doing with that GPU.Īdded b208 benchmark by Steam user. I was getting ~80% GPU utilization during road generation on a GTX 1080ti. Through road generation, my GPU was averaging close to 40-41% utilization, then after that next to nothing. Only one disk usage spike, during export. So depending on what you are doing, that may cause issues if you only have 16 gb of memory. Total for my system at the 15 for 7DTD was 19. I was between 9 and 15 gb total usage with the spike occurring at the end for memory usage. Top 16 was running at about 60% and the bottom 16 were running around 20% or less. It would appear that clock speed more than core count (above 8/16) is importantĢx E5 2667 v2 Xeons (total of 16 cores 32 threads)įor the first 32 minutes or so (through country roads) i was hitting approx 34% cpu utilization across all threads. I ran the xugenerate on B199 at 16384x16384 and it took 40 minutes 30 seconds approximately GPU loads up during generation, does GPU affect time to generate?ī233 hardware change: OCZ RD400 -> Samsung 970 Evo Seed seems to have a non-trivial impact on time to generate.
